I hired SK Quality Roofing to replace my roof during the late spring of 2024. From the moment Max came out to provide an estimate, they were professional and gave me a very complete estimate for the roof replacement. It was a big job and took some time from beginning to end. The crew leader. Luan, was phenomenal. There were a number of delays, no fault of SK, mainly due to weather an summer rains. However, Luan kept me completely informed with respect to status, estimated time to complete next steps, and of course, time to complete the entire project.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Designed for homeowners across Coral Springs, this FAQ answers the most common questions about residential roofing, from minor repairs to full roof replacements, so you can protect your home and make informed decisions with confidence.

Coastal homes deal with salt air corrosion and direct ocean wind exposure, but inland Coral Springs presents its own distinct challenges. Without the ocean breeze to moderate temperatures, rooftops here absorb more radiant heat during the day, which accelerates the breakdown of shingles and underlayment over time. Coral Springs also sits in one of South Florida's most active summer storm corridors, afternoon thunderstorms bring intense localized wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and rapid pressure changes that stress roof systems repeatedly throughout the season. Additionally, the area's mature tree canopy means debris impact and moisture retention are common concerns for homeowners in neighborhoods like Ramblewood Estates and Eagle Trace. Understanding these inland-specific conditions is key to choosing the right roofing system and maintenance schedule for your home.

In South Florida's climate, the best-performing roofing materials share two qualities: heat resistance and wind resilience. Concrete and clay tile roofs are a top choice for many Coral Springs homeowners; they reflect radiant heat effectively, carry long service lives, and hold up well against wind-driven rain when properly installed. Metal roofing, particularly standing-seam systems, is another strong performer, offering excellent wind resistance, energy efficiency, and longevity with minimal maintenance. For homeowners seeking a more budget-conscious option, high-quality architectural shingles rated for high-wind zones provide reliable protection when paired with the right underlayment and ventilation system. The best material for your home depends on your roof's pitch, your budget, and how long you plan to stay — factors our team evaluates during every free estimate.

After a summer storm in Coral Springs, some roof damage is visible from the ground; missing shingles, displaced tile, or granule buildup collecting in your gutters are all signs worth investigating. However, the most significant damage is often what you can't see: compromised underlayment, cracked tile that appears intact from below, or flashing that has lifted slightly and now allows water infiltration during the next rain event. Inside your home, water stains on ceilings, damp insulation in the attic, or musty odors after heavy rain can all point to storm-related roof penetration. Because South Florida storms can cause subtle structural stress that worsens over time, we recommend scheduling a professional inspection after any significant storm. Don't rely solely on a visual check from your driveway to assess the full condition of your roof.

For most Coral Springs homeowners, a professional roof inspection once a year is a sound baseline, ideally scheduled before hurricane season begins in June so any vulnerabilities are identified and addressed while contractor availability is still high. If your home is located near heavy tree coverage, is more than 15 years old, or has experienced recent storm activity, twice-yearly inspections are a reasonable step up. Beyond scheduled inspections, it's also worth having your roof evaluated after any major weather event, following significant repairs or HVAC work on the roof, or when you notice interior signs of moisture like ceiling stains or attic condensation. Routine inspections are one of the most cost-effective roofing investments you can make to catch a minor issue early.

Yes, and it's one of the more practical factors to consider when planning a roof replacement in Coral Springs. Homes built in the 1970s, 80s, and early 90s in communities like Ramblewood Estates and Forest Hills were often constructed under older building codes with different structural load assumptions, deck materials, and ventilation standards than newer construction. In some cases, a full deck inspection and re-nailing is needed before a new roof system is installed. Older homes may also have original roof-to-wall connections that don't meet current Florida Building Code wind mitigation requirements, which affects both performance and insurance eligibility. Conversely, homes in newer Coral Springs developments are typically built to more current standards, giving you a wider range of system options. Our team accounts for construction era during every estimate to ensure the right system is matched to your home.

Coral Springs is one of the more heavily canopied cities in Broward County, and while mature trees add beauty and shade, they create real roofing considerations for homeowners. Overhanging branches deposit leaves, seeds, and organic debris that collect in valleys and gutters, retaining moisture against your roof surface and accelerating the breakdown of shingles and underlayment. During storms, branches can cause direct impact damage to tile or shingles. Dense canopy also reduces sunlight exposure on certain roof sections, which slows drying after rain events and creates conditions favorable to algae and moss growth, particularly on north-facing slopes. The good news is that most tree-related roofing issues are manageable with the right maintenance routine. Keeping branches trimmed back from the roofline, cleaning gutters regularly, and scheduling annual inspections go a long way toward protecting your roof in a heavily treed neighborhood.

    Our Mission Statement

At SK Quality Roofing, our mission in Coral Springs is simple: protect homeowners with roofing solutions built on decades of experience, honest craftsmanship, and trust that lasts well beyond the final inspection. Since 1982, we’ve treated every roof as a complete system, because real results come from preparation, quality materials, and the attention to detail that Florida’s climate demands.

Owner Dante Weston has called South Florida home for over 40 years, growing up in Jupiter, attending the University of Miami, and building businesses with deep roots in this region. That lifelong connection shapes how SK Quality Roofing operates: as a team genuinely invested in the communities it serves, not a company just passing through. General Manager Robert Brady grew up in Jensen Beach and built his entire roofing career from the ground up, starting as a sales rep and earning his way to leading day-to-day operations. He leads with a simple belief: you are only as strong as the team you build around you.

From the Wyndham Lakes and Eagle Trace communities to neighborhoods surrounding Coral Springs City Hall, we tailor every project to the home’s roof type, layout, and local conditions. With 14,000+ customers served and more than four decades in business, Coral Springs homeowners can count on SK Quality Roofing for clean job sites, clear communication, and results that hold up for years to come.

Common Roof Repair Issues in South Florida

Why You Need a Professional Roofing Contractor in Coral Springs

Living in Coral Springs means dealing with one of the most roof-demanding climates in the state. Situated in inland Broward County, the city sits in the direct path of summer thunderstorm systems that produce high winds, heavy rainfall, and sustained moisture, the kind of conditions that quietly accelerate wear on even well-installed roofing systems. From established neighborhoods near West Atlantic Boulevard to newer developments along Wiles Road and the communities around the Coral Springs Country Club, every home faces its own set of roofing challenges based on age, tree coverage, and storm exposure.

Your roof is your home’s first line of defense, protecting your family, your belongings, and your property’s long-term value. A small leak, a few displaced shingles, or cracked tile after a summer storm can seem minor but rarely stay that way in this climate. Professional roofing services keep your home secure, whether you need a post-storm inspection, a targeted repair, or a full replacement. A properly maintained roof also improves energy efficiency, reducing the strain on your AC during South Florida’s long, hot summers.

Don’t wait for the next rain event to reveal what’s been quietly building overhead. Proactive roofing care is one of the smartest investments a Coral Springs homeowner can make, and SK Quality Roofing is here to help you make it with confidence.
