$1,000 Community Resilience Scholarship – SK Quality Roofing

At SK Quality Roofing, roofing is more than construction—it’s a cornerstone of stability, safety, and strength. This scholarship is for students who recognize how businesses can play a transformative role in building resilient communities, especially in the trades.

From Shelter to Service: How Can Roofing Companies Strengthen Community Resilience?

A roof is more than shingles and nails—it safeguards against disaster and displacement. As a Florida-based company, SK Quality Roofing has seen firsthand how strong roofs and values go hand in hand. We’ve contributed to Habitat for Humanity projects, supported local recovery efforts, and engaged in community-centered initiatives. But we believe this is just the start.

In your 1,000-word essay, explore the broader role roofing companies—and other trade-based businesses—can play in community resilience. You might consider:

  • The impact of durable roofing in disaster-prone areas
  • How construction companies can support housing access and recovery
  • The economic and social ripple effects of resilience-focused building practices
  • Proposals for how businesses can act as local anchors in times of crisis
  • How you, in your chosen field, plan to contribute to resilient, equitable communities
